his life was of a typical military despot an outstanding soldier Amin joined the King's African Rifles of the British colonial army in 1946 and got the ranks of corporal and seargent on his way to the
rank ofwarrant officer in 1954, the highest rank possible for a Black African in the colonial British army
there's an interesting story behind his nick name "DADA" which he got while serving in Kenya
after independence he became the deputy commander of the army in 1964 and in 1966 he became a general and in jan 1971 he seized power and did what the people of his ilk do.
in 1971 he expelled all asians , pushed his country nearly at war with Kenya ,did a bit of ethnic cleansing dabbled with PLO and gaddafi the world was as silent as its now on iraq but the punch was delivered by
Israelis( i love them when they do this)in 1976 when they rescued theFlight 139, the Air France Airbus hijacked from Athens on 27 June 1976, which was invited by Amin to stop at Entebbe International Airport in a remarkable operation
At midnight on 3 July 1976, Israeli commandos attacked the airport and freed all but four of the hostages. also destroying ugandan airforce in the process AND WITH ONLY ONECOMMANDO DEAD ( hellloooooo south block is any one listening?)
in 1979 he was forced to run by Tanzanians and got assylum in Saudi arabia and continued to live on Govt stipend ( dawood ibrahim was not the only one) which he continued till aug 2003 the day his miserable life ended
